Priest Rahandras has lived with the darkness trapped inside himself for years. Betrayed by his own brother and forced to watch his clan's brutal annihilation, the only thing Priest wants more than to escape the curse that haunts him - as both man and beast - is to rebuild.
Until the mate he's longed for walks into his life with an elder from his past. She's everything he's wished for, and the key to the clan's very survival.
Kateri Falsen is a woman of logic and facts. While Priest's cat can sense her arousal, telling her they're fated won't be enough. He'll have to show her his love: with his words, with his actions, and with his body.
Protecting Kateri from the evil trapped inside him is paramount. But when lost clan members are systematically murdered, he'll have to choose between exposing his mate to his black magic, or risking her as the next victim.

This was a fun quick "read". I listen to this book on one sitting and I really enjoyed it.

Priest is a decades-old shifter that has been betrayed and he just wants to make things right for the clan. When an old clansmate appears with her grandchildren after the death of their parents and a vision, he will stop at nothing to protect what is his.

Kateri and her brother never knew much about their inheritance because their dad rejected his quest after all that happened many years before that caused many of the clans to lose their Primos and now they are thrown into this world with no safety net under them to cushion their hard fall.

I loved the world building and the quest the characters have to go thru to get their companions. I liked writing style and the narrator was good.

But I still felt like it all happened to quickly and Kateri and her brother accepted everything with minimal to no struggle. Also, the romance was too insta for me. Mind you it doesn't bother me if is insta-love as long as it is well written and you don't even realize that such a short time has passed.

All in all a good series and I'll definitively pick the next book on this series.

The Lion Kings

For six months, Madeline Granger has been overwhelmed by an almost magnetic pull that has kept her on the road, traveling all over the Midwest and erotically dreaming of two men… her lion kings. When she wakes up in Kansas, just outside the perimeter of a traveling carnival, it miraculously feels like coming home. But after she meets the two men who shouldn’t exist outside her own mind, it’s hard for her to reconcile that her dream lovers are two very real and sexy men, not imaginary. All she knows for certain is she wants them both.
Adam Michael’s and his brother Cage, both lion-shifters, not only run Pantheros & Co Carnival, they are the stars. Making a home for his crew of misfits and outcasts was Adam’s dream. Cage was his most desperate rescue, and after a profound loss, Adam worries that Cage’s grief will drive him toward a brutality he can’t come back from.
The last thing either lion-shifter expected was Madeline Granger. She might be the answer to Adam’s prayers, in more ways than one, if he can get Cage to look past his pain. But, can Adam and Cage see Madeline as more than a substitute Clary? And can Madeline rescue two Kings drowning in their own sorrow?
Maddie might want The Lion Kings to rule her body, but is she strong enough to rule their hearts.

The Lion Kings follows this woman named Madeline Granger who is a sort of psychic where she sees the past. She has been having dreams about this two guys Adam and Cage and has been restless for about 6 months going from town to town.

When she gets to a small town in Kansas and near the carnival, this Restless feeling she's been having goes away. And it is then she realized that the men she's been having dreams about are real.

I really liked the story and the development of the characters and the Mystery of the death of Clary. That last one had me guessing at every turn and still, I wasn't able to figure out who was responsible or why until the very end.

What I was a little bit skeptical about in this book was the connection between Clary and Madeline. More than once I thought that the brothers we're replacing Clary with Madeline.

Aside from that, it was a really fast and cute story and if you like Paranormal romance I recommend this one to you.

Sloane Garcia has butted heads with Reece Jenkins ever since he was a colossal jerk of epic proportions on a night she’d rather forget. So what if he’s overconfident, ultramasculine, and hard muscled? When she finds out he’s on the auction block at the annual firefighter’s charity event, she decides to give this cocky firefighter a dose of his own medicine. Now that she’s won the hunk, he’s on call—to do whatever Sloane wants.
Sure, Reece and Sloane had a rocky start, but he had his reasons. None of that matters now that he’s the bachelor at her beck and call, tasked with granting her four wishes in four weeks. He runs into burning buildings for a living, but nothing will be as tough as dousing the flames Sloane ignites in him. What started out as just a game might end up with Reece losing the one thing he swore he’d never give up: his heart.

This book is about Sloane; who is the best friend of Erin, the heroine from the first book; and Reece; who is Erin's brother and Jake's best friend, Jake being the hero of the fist book.

This is an enemies to lovers story. Something happened a year ago that made Sloane hate Reece.

In this book the firefighter captain has it against Reese for whatever reason, I really don't remember anything about this from the first book, and so the captain makes Reece participate in the four for four charity auction.

The person who pays the money for this firefighters have four weeks to make them do four tasks of their choice. Once Sloan sees Reece up for auction she thinks it is the best way to get revenge.

As much as I love the first book I thought I was going to love this one too and I did like it but I didn't love it as much as I did the first one. I love the banter between Sloane and Reece and some of the tasks that Sloane thought to have Reece do where hilarious.

What I found lacking was the deeper connection that the characters of the first book had. This book was more of a quick light read. This does not mean that I am going to quit reading this series. I'm looking forward for the next book.

Miss Mechanic

Two mechanics. One rivalry.
She’ll prove she’s as good as she says she is.
He’ll prove her place isn’t under the hood.
It’s over it.

“Don’t let the b*****ds get you down.”
For twenty-six years, I lived by my daddy’s motto. Which is why “Mechanic Wanted” is all it takes for me to apply for the job at the garage we once owned.
And I meet the biggest b*****d of them all.
Dexter Ryne. Hotter than Hell in July and a firm believer that my place is on reception, taking phone calls and looking pretty. Not getting dirty under the hood of a car.
Determined to prove each other wrong, we make a deal.
I have three weeks to prove my worth as a mechanic. If I don’t, I’m on telephone duty.
If I do, he’ll accept defeat and make my job permanent.
Now, all I have to do is fight my attraction to the cocky little… beep.
Problem is, an engine isn’t the only thing he knows how to make purr…

I have read Emma Hart a few times and I've loved every one of those reads. This book although a fun and sexy read for some reason I didn't love as much as her other books.

Not to say I didn't like it, I just for some reason was hung up on the fact that there were so many profanities on this read. Don't get me wrong I'm not a prude that can't handle the bad words on my reads, I just was too focused on that fact to actually enjoy the read.

It might be the fact too that I was wondering how the narrators felt about saying them so much, lol.

The story is about this woman Jamie to prove to Dexter that just because she dressed sexy and was very feminine didn't mean she couldn't do her job as a mechanic. That she could do it and do it better than him.

There were many hilarious scenes and some hot scenes too and I am pretty sure I would have enjoyed this book (even give it 4 stars) if I had read it instead of listening to it.

But lesson learned and really anything Emma Hart I recommend it if you are looking for a fun fast flirty read and don't mind the F-bomb being thrown around like it's candy.

I’ve completely had it with men. I’m done.
And in case you were wondering, book boyfriends aren’t real. I should know because I write them.
My name is Greer Hanson. I think I’ve lost my mojo. After having my heart broken, I can’t seem to write about romance or love. When my best friend and publisher recommends an inspiration vacation, I decide to give it a whirl. What’s the worst that could happen?
Enter the perfect stranger. Patrick Fisher knocks me off my feet with his rugged good looks and charm. After one night with him, the words begin to flow. Since I know I’ll never see him again, I use him as my muse. But what do I do when my fantasy comes to life and that man steps right out of the pages of my book?
Book Boyfriends can’t be real. At least, that’s what I keep telling myself. Am I willing to risk having my heart broken all over again?
Maybe this time reality will be better than fiction.

I have to say that this book almost didn't make it for me. At about 16% into the book, I was contemplating DNFing it but I always try and read 'till 25% before making that decision.

Greer Hanson is a bestselling author on vacation to find her muse back after a nasty divorce left her a broken woman. On her last day there she meets Patrick Fisher who accidentally knocked her down while on a run. He wants to make up for it and keeps trying to get her to go out with him. Things happened and then she gives him her "number" and then she disappears. Forward a couple months and she wrote a book so great that her agent and best friend Luna knows they'll get a movie offer for it.

One of the main problems with this book for me was that it was told in first person POV and if you know me you know I am not a fan of it. So, since we are stuck on Greer's head you get the unabridged version of what is going on. Since she is an author she over thinks everything and over-describes everything else.

After she goes back to California everything gets a bit better in the descriptive nature of the story and we have more characters involved than just her (although it's still 1st person POV from her view). I liked where the story went after she finds Fisher again but again we are stuck in Greer's head so here comes the insecurities and the drama and the trust issues and all that.

I seriously got fed up with her so much but I needed to finish the book if for nothing else than to prove to myself it wasn't so bad. I admit I cried when she open that box but I think the book would have done better if we'd at least gotten another POV aside from hers (even if it was 1st person too).

A Fistful of Charms

The evil night things that prowl Cincinnati despise witch and bounty hunter Rachel Morgan. Her new reputation for the dark arts is turning human and undead heads alike with the intent to possess, bed, and kill her—not necessarily in that order.
Now a mortal lover who abandoned Rachel has returned, haunted by his secret past. And there are those who covet what Nick possesses—savage beasts willing to destroy the Hollows and everyone in it if necessary.
Forced to keep a low profile or eternally suffer the wrath of a vengeful demon, Rachel must nevertheless act quickly. For the pack is gathering for the first time in millennia to ravage and to rule. Suddenly, more than Rachel's soul is at stake.

With each book in this series, I get more and more frustrated and wonder if I should even waste my time finishing this series. Which of course I come back with the response that I am one of those people that one started reading a book/series of the same character I just need to finish it.

In this book, Rachel and Jenks go out of Cincinnati to help Jenks son, Jax and Rachel's ex-boyfriend Nick. As the book progresses Rachel gets into an emotional roller coaster that leaves your head spinning and with a huge desire to wack her upside the head.

I have to say that I care not about Rachel and I'm sure I keep reading this series because I want to know what happens to Ivy, Jenks, Kisten and even Trent. I just know that it will be a while before I pick the next book in this series and I just pray I am in an excellent mood to read it.
