     Dreams don’t die.
Can an amputee bartender help an abused woman reclaim her dreams?
Garrett’s dreams could have ended with the loss of his leg. Yet he’s behind the bar, working towards his own restaurant—and someone to share his life with.
Lilah forgot how to dream. Years of abuse left her feeling worthless. A chance meeting stirs a longing for more, but Garrett can’t help her reclaim her dreams—she’s got to do that on her own.
Will Lilah share her dreams with Garrett? Or will her past destroy them?

This is a cute short story of self-discovery and acceptance that I found I liked.

Lilah is in an abusive relationship. Garrett sees that and tries to help her even when she's in denial and puts herself down. Lilah and Garrett have both been through some painful pasts and I think they are perfect for each other.

What I would have liked was for the author to delve deeper into the character's lives and their backgrounds. We get this small stories of how they got where they are and how they felt at the moment but not much else. Then we have the characters meet on one or two occasions and then they don't see each other for almost a year.

In between, there is nothing letting us know what they've been up to or how they're doing. There is no time for readers to connect with the characters and that is why I gave it 3 stars. It was a likable and entertaining story but not something I'll remember in a few days.
