Audio Review: Every Which Way but Dead by Kim Harrison
There's no witch in Cincinnati tougher, sexier, or more screwed up than bounty hunter Rachel Morgan, who's already put her love life and soul in dire jeopardy through her determined efforts to bring criminal night creatures to justice.
Between "runs," she has her hands full fending off the attentions of her blood-drinking partner, keeping a deadly secret from her backup, and resisting a hot new vamp suitor.
Rachel must also take a stand in the war that's raging in the city's underworld, since she helped put away its former vampire kingpin - and made a deal with a powerful demon to do so that could cost her an eternity of pain, torment, and degradation.
And now her dark "master" is coming to collect his due.
Rachel is at it again with her risky personality and awesome partners. Although I like this series so far, there are (like in the last book) some things that pushed my buttons. Rachel is still a kick ass heroine and she is still dealing with the aftermath of putting Pascary behind bars.
What Rachel is not is a person that deals well with her problems. She can help many people with their problems (that’s why she is a runner after all) but when it comes to her personal life she suck at how to handle it.
I just hope that this books don’t turn out to be one of those series where the main character is whoreish and ends with a different man every other book just to finish the series with one of the ones at the beginning.
Like always Janx is my pixie and she better grovel at his tiny feet all of next book. And can someone please tied Rachel down and not let her out of their sight. By the end of every book she is more screwed than how she started.
