Half-human and half-wyr, Pia Giovanni spent her life keeping a low profile among the wyrkind and avoiding the continuing conflict between them and their Dark Fae enemies. But after being blackmailed into stealing a coin from the hoard of a dragon, Pia finds herself targeted by one of the most powerful–and passionate—of the Elder Races.
As the most feared and respected of the wyrkind, Dragos Cuelebre cannot believe someone had the audacity to steal from him, much less succeed. And when he catches the thief, Dragos spares her life, claiming her as his own to further explore the desire they’ve ignited in one another.

While listening to another series I saw that the narrator had been switched to Sophie Eastlake and since I have trouble finding narrators that I like before I got to the book in the series where it starts with her I decided to researched a bit and found this book to listen to. Needless to say, I liked her very much and as an added bonus I found another series I have fallen for.

Pia is on the run from a formidable Wyr after she was blackmailed into robbing from him. She makes plans to leave and clear herself from the blackmail and she's able to succeed, except she made a tiny mistake that will change the course of her life forever.

Dragos is a dragon with a big... hoard and she knows the moment he is robbed but is unable to be on time to stop the theft. He needs to get his property back by any means necessary and Pia inadvertently left him a clue to find her.

I love every second of this story. The story was so well crafted. It had me on edge to find out all the hidden secrets; especially Pia's; and it gave them to you slowly but not so slowly that you lost interest. Dragos was very dominant and possessive but very sweet and (with some effort) understanding.

I can't wait to start the next book on the series and even though I'd like more of Pia and Dragos I'm hoping I catch glimpses of them throughout the series. I still can't wait to fall in love with other characters we see in this book and find out more about this exciting world and the different races of magical creatures.
